Sydney's  Soldiers

Serving those who serve our country

Sydney is passionate about her nonprofit organization, Sydney's Soldiers.

The mission at Sydney's Soldiers is simple-

Spreading hope, boosting morale and decreasing suicide rates among our U.S. Servicemembers by providing soldiers with care packages.

Each care package is equipped with necessities such as socks, chapstick, pain relief patches, protein bars and post it notes with words of encouragement. To date, Sydney's Soldiers has shipped 86 military care packages, not just in the country, but overseas as well.

The Action

Throughout multiple community service events thus far, Sydney has promoted positivity, helped fight poverty and built a greater community.

She has raised $12,000 through local sponsorships that all went back into Sydney's Soldiers Care Packages and shipped across the world to boost morale for our service members.

Sydney organized several school programs that addressed cyber bullying, social media, inclusivity, cultural appreciation, and college readiness.

The Community Service

Sydney believes change starts within the community and this is why she has volunteered at the following events across the Rio Grande Valley.

Sydney hosted a large toy drive at the Edinburg Children's Hospital-South Texas Health System providing nearly 100 toys to pediatric patients.

Sydney packed over 300 food boxes at the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley for senior citizens and impoverished families.

Sydney hosted a trash bash where she walked five miles picking up litter, debris and trash in her Edinburg community.

Sydney collected dog and cat food, as well as blankets to be donated at the Palm Valley Animal Society.

Sydney volunteered at The Veterans Affairs office in McAllen, TX, greeting veterans.

Sydney packed dozens of military care packages for our troops overseas through her non-profit organization, Sydney's Soldiers.

Sydney presented multiple Sydney Hernandez Foundation Scholarship recipients with their awards.

On a weekend, Sydney organized a headstone cleaning at the State Veterans Cemetery where she was able to clean 100 headstones of fallen heroes.

Sydney visited a local elementary to read to children at the start of the school year.

Chick-Fil-A Edinburg invited Sydney to be the Guest of Honor for their Toddler Tuesday Speakers Series to promote literacy,

To spread positivity, Sydney started a campaign called "Post-It Positivity" where she posted anonymous post-its full of encouraging words and placed them across places she visited.

In an effort to thank first responders in her area, Sydney delivered donuts and coffee to Edinburg Fire Fighters.
